# The Trade School

> A forward-looking measure of demonstrated competence — what a person can do, shown — plus matching to training pathways and live employer demand. Replaces the résumé the way GPAi replaces FICO. The credential and the credit score are the two gatekeepers that look backward. The Trade School measures forward: demonstrated competence (simulation, observed tasks, assessments, partner and employer attestation) scored on six explainable metrics, then matched to training pathways and to what employers say they need right now.

## What is paid (x402 — HTTP 402, USDC on Base, no keys, no signup, no human approval)

- POST /score/competence — competence measure (0–4) + grade + tier + six-metric breakdown + plain-language reasons
- GET|POST /match/training-path — ranked training pathways for a profile (readiness, demand fit, uplift, gaps)
- GET|POST /match/employer-demand — ranked employer demand signals for a profile (fit, gaps)
- GET /signal/demand.json — the live demand catalog (AI crawlers pay; people browse it free on /employers)

Current price: $0.24 USDC per query on each paid endpoint (ladder-priced for a differentiated scored product); live values are always in /v1 and /.well-known/x402.json. Bot signs, bot pays, bot retrieves.

Levels 0–5 (none · aware · assisted · independent · proficient · expert). Evidence types: employer_attestation · assessment · task · simulation · portfolio · self_report. Fields that describe a person (name, contact, age, gender, race, address, photo…) are stripped and never scored or logged.

## Positioning

Analytical competence measure, model tsc-v0.1.0 — an expert-weighted hypothesis, not yet calibrated against hiring or income outcomes. It does not make employment decisions and does not make consumer credit decisions. Every response carries this disclosure.
